Default Solid Earth and Images

Has anyone else had issues with using the RETS feed for Solid Earth and grabbing images? I tried VieleRETS and it downloads blank photos.

I tried RETSConnector and I get an error when I try to download the images.

I can get the data fine with both, but not the images.

Any ideas?

we've run into a few oddities there. have you brought up a packet capture yet to see whats coming across the wire? i know one thing we've run into was requesting photo '0', returned a multipart response of all photos (as if we'ld requested '*'). now if the client you're using determines response type based on request type that is a problem. originally the java rets client from cart did, but we changed that after realizing response types arent necessarily bound to the request, aka, a '*' request that would only return 1 photo, will occasionally return non-multipart. i wonder if this might be the issue you're seeing? if not, be aware, some photo issues exist there, but without more info, i can only toss out random hints.

hope that helps,
jp

Were you able to get images from Solid Earth using VieleRETS? I'm about to implement VieleRETS and am curious to hear how you got the images. Much thanks...

Default Were either of you?

Were either of you able to get this to work with your Solid Earth servers? I can't even get it to connect. I can connect fine and pull the data with RETS Connector, but VieleRETS gives me an error 100 and says I have the wrong UN/PW or URL, which isn't the case. The only thing it could be is a client ID, right? But I didn't have to put anything else in RETS Connector.

Solid Earth increased it's security and that caused problem for VieleRETS the last I heard that issue had been resolved in VieleRETS.

The issue with ListingID:0 pulling multi part was resolved a long time ago.

Are you still having an issue?

And yes if it is going to fixed you'll need a wire or at least some good info.

I have a source file you can use to lean from if you like, it may help. I tried forever to connect to Solid Earth until I realized I can't do it with my connector set to 1.7 I think they are only 1.5 compliant.

Also on some providers the photo path is encoded or in the database so the setting for the DMQL2 type is important.

I suggest you run data and images separate. Sure its a lot more work but until Solid Earth goes to compliant 1.7 it could be a real challenge to get your images.

Zeke is who I spoke to at solid earth.

As far as I know, Solid Earth uses IP restriction as well so you may need to give them your IP. I am also using vieleRETS to connect to Solid Earth. It's been fine so far.
