Default RETS Connector, full data download

All,

I've seen a few post in regards to dealing with record limit per download but couldn't find any answers.

It's gotta been resolved by somebody already?

My MLS (MREDLLC) limits to 2000 records, unlimited LN and RECORDMODDATE. They use Dynaconnectios, it wouldn't connect with RETS 1.7.2 which is supposedly supports pagination; only 1.5

Is there a way to step by 2k records for the initial data download? My alternative is to set a bunch searches with a +2000 offset. But if I need to download 500,000 listings I have to set by hand 250 of those searches.

Can you give me heads up?

Hey
You should actually give the MLS a call. I've seen MLS systems, which for full downloads they would actually set the limit higher, so you could pull 10 K, 20 K properties per pull. But you should check it with them.

But if you have to download everything, and you limit is 2,000 properties/pull, you just have to make enough pulls, with offset + 2000 to get everything

What is strange, is that most of the times, that limit has a logic too. It doesn't seem very likely that for pulling 500, 000 properties, they would set the limit as low as 2,000 properties.

Actually, MREDLLC has 500, 000 properties ? I would assume you download both active, and sold listings ? But even if you do that, if you pull sold listings (as far as i know), most MLS systems only allow you to output the ones which are one year old maximum. So you should either set a criteria on what you're pulling - status active/sold. If you pull sold, you should have sold date max one year old, and different criteria which would make you pull just what you need, to reduce the number of listings you need to pull

Give us a little more information on that huge number of properties you need to download, as i said before, it's definitely a huge number

Hope that helps

Kate

Default RETS Connector, full data download #2

Well, It's been a 13 months on and off process to get VieleRETS goigng. The association and Dynaconnections know me by name by now. The latest advise I was given is to use RETS Connector. I found a Windows box, set RC and connected ok. Yes, likely I wouldn't need 500,000 records but even for a 50,000 records (that I know I need) it requires setting up by hand 25 searches. Plus, I somehow need to merge the downloaded files in one on the first pull and for future updates.

I really prerefer not to go a custom script route if I can avoid it.
